Theology is frequently divided into both its negative and positive aspects–and it has been so divided for very many centuries. These aspects are called apophatic and cataphatic theology–both Greek words, meaning just negative and affirmative respectively (apophasis and cataphasis likewise meaning a negation and an affirmation). However, there is much confusion about what these each are.
