Sound in Faith (Ep 1)

Introduction to Thomas's Commentary on the Apostles' Creed
2

In this and the upcoming videos of this series, we’re going to comment through Thomas’s Commentary on the Apostles’ Creed (access it at e.g., aquinas.cc—under his sermons/liturgical works at the bottom).

I’m calling the series Sound in Faith. I’m thinking of a quotation from Thomas’s commentary on Titus 1:13, where he says: “When [Paul] says that they may be sound in faith, he touches on the end of his rebuke. For a man is sound wherein is no corruption. And thus someone is sound in faith, who has faith corrupt on no point.” (I must acknowledge my friend Aaron Ventura, who alerted me to this lovely quote!)

In this series, I hope to teach you to read Thomas’s text for yourself, and learn from his mastery of Christian doctrine—so that Thomas can heal both me and you from all our intellectual corruptions, and make us sound in faith indeed.
